As I was driving home one afternoon 17 years ago, there it was, The Gallery, with a sign: ” Studio Art Classes.” I really couldn’t say what senses took over at the time, sixth sense – a gut feeling, but there I was in the parking lot, walking into a future bewitching me ever since.
Art is such a splendid word. Encompassing a vast plethora of meanings and mediums. What a world, almost mind-boggling and utterly fascinating. I had taken art history classes in college, and my professional history begged for more. Enrolling in classes was only the first step, oh yes, the list! A list of cherished art tools for the first-class, each launching an inquisitive: what will I use this for?

The day arrives, and I’m walking into a vast space with my senses provoked. Smells, sights, and sounds are everywhere, some I have not experienced, EVER. A desk slightly elevated for ease of work and now a place to dream – “an escape to weave the fabric of my imagination” Lori Cagney.
My extensive tech passion began with, oh yes, the Apple 11e. My Dad and I gamed on early Nintendo, and with my crazy friends, we ripped apart desktops to discover the anatomy of the machine. My first Wacom tablet was a hand-me-down with software we coded into my computer! Thus began the learning curve of fabricating my paper onto the screen. Now, my sons and I enjoy gaming, computer building, the hour of code a day, and a newer Wacom tablet with state-of-the-art graphics pushing technology to its limits.
The creative industry has evolved into the world of technology with gorgeous tools available in any scope. Examples include Autodesk’s Engineering Software, 3D printing for artists, and the booming NFTs and Virtual Reality industry.
